Dear Jeannine, I was blessed to have tuned into our local, Nevada City, radio station on Monday, August 19, 2002, to hear your lovely voice... and the discussion on circumcision. Thank you for your words of wisdom. Your love of babies and mothers and of our planet filled my heart. I was glued to the program, long after I dropped my son off at school. I particularly loved your attitude around mothers feeling guilt & shame for circumcising their sons because they didn't know better. Your input that this is the way that we evolve, was a refreshing place to hear someone come from... and your heart/soul-centered way touched me deeply. I found myself saying a big ahhhhh inside. Thank you for who you are and for the wisdom, authenticity and love you so beautifully possess and put out to our world. I'm a doula, working mainly with hospital birthing women. The challenges and frustrations that this work holds at times... due to the ignorance and stuckness of our cultures obstetrics... is my greatest challenge. The hardest part is often holding the space for women who hand their experience over to their doctor. Scary. My heart bleeds at times for the babies, whose bodies and souls are ravaged by their mothers fear... unhealthy choices... and many times, medication.
