Return to the current report Return to the archive lists SEPTEMBER 2000 COSMIC WEATHER REPORT Virgo weather predicted for September, the month of the Virgin. Our lovely Virgos are not virginal in the Victorian sense of asexual or pre-sexual, but in the more original meaning of complete in themselves. The Greek word we translate as virgin, parthenos, referred to a woman who was powerful enough to choose her own partner rather than the usual arranged marriage. In the Greek religion, three Goddesses held this title through the fact that Aphrodite, the Goddess of Love, had no hold over them: Athene, Hestia and Artemis. Powerful ladies these, even the King of the Gods, Zeus, could not claim to be free from Aphrodite's sway. Athene was a very capable father's daughter, Hestia ruled the inner sanctum of the hearth and Artemis, loved the outdoors, animals and plants, plus she was associated with the tribe of 9 year old girls, when they are at the height of their "boyish" composure. All three have traits that shed light on our constrained Virgos. They CAN be intimidating with their high degree of self-sufficiency. The month of September starts off with quite a mix. We have every thing needed to make a great Western drama, the Good, the Bad and the Ugly. Actually, I do not consider any grouping of the planets to deserve these terms, but let me tell you how things stack up on the first of September. We have a similar 4 main groups of planets as discussed in the August CWR, but now with Saturn at the beginning of Gemini, the Sun and Mercury in Virgo and Moon and Venus in Libra, some very integrated formations are in play. The "Good" is the very beautiful Grand Trine formed by the 6 planets in air signs, 2 each in mercurial Gemini, harmonious Libra and exalted Aquarius. Oh so lofty and high minded . . . The "Ugly" is the opposition of the lone wildcat gunslinger, Mars, and unruly Uranus, which can make for some fancy but deadly gunplay. Well, of course this is over dramatized
a bit, but are you getting the picture that September starts off with some aspects that pull out the extremes? Now add to this the transformative 150 degree angle between pairs of planets in Virgo and Aquarius (Mercury and his higher octave Uranus exact) and the applying opposition between Jupiter and Pluto, and we have the makings for quite a month in Dodge city.
